Since its inception, the ACGME accredited Osteopathic Medical Education Consortium of Oklahoma (OMECO) at Oklahoma State University Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program has trained and graduated more than 100 Osteopathic physicians, all of whom have gone on to successfully practice medicine nation-wide. This highly competitive training program has six residents in each post-graduate year, all learning rural, tribal, and suburban medicine. The OMECO OB/GYN residency gains valuable experience from the academic Oklahoma State University Medical Center, along with Saint Francis Hospital, which boasts 4,200 deliveries a year and a Level IV NICU, as well as the community physicians in and around Tulsa, Oklahoma. Exposure to OB/GYN subspecialties starts early and includes Gynecology Oncology, Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery/Urogynecology, Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and Complex Family Planning.
