SAC Day of Service

Make an Impact on the Community!

Join the Staff Advisory Council in a day for serving the community that supports our staff and students. Staff will use 4 hours of admin leave for their time volunteering. First 50 registrants will receive a SAC Day of Service T-shirt. Registration ends on September 22nd, 2025.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be a current OSU Staff/Faculty Member
  2. Must have your Supervisor Approval
  3. Must be able to travel to assigned location

  • Joy in the Cause - Tulsa

    Joy in the Cause

    Joy in the Cause is rooted in compassion and community, working to spread comfort and joy throughout Tulsa to individuals and families in crisis.

    What to expect: Putting small crafts together a plus if you have sewing experience

    Shift: Morning only (8am - 12pm)

  • Tulsa Garden Center at Woodward Park - Tulsa

    Tulsa Garden Center at Woodward Park

    The Tulsa Garden Center is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to serve as horticultural headquarters with diverse educational opportunities for our community, and to provide exceptional and unique guest experiences within Woodward Park.

    What to expect: Deep cleaning the greenhouse and some other fall garden tasks

    Shift: Morning only (8am - 12pm)

    Side Notes: Please wear comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting wet or dirty. Closed toe shoes and bring a water bottle.

  • Take Control Initiative - On Campus (Tulsa)

    Take Control Initiative

    TCI provides free access to all birth control methods, IUD and implant removals, Lyft rides to partner clinics, and morning-after pill kits for eligible individuals. We also offer education workshops for community members, referral trainings for partner organizations, and training opportunities for healthcare providers.

    Shift: Afternoon only (1pm - 5pm)

  • Humane Society - Tahlequah

    Humane Society

    HSCC is a no-kill shelter supported by donations, fund-raising projects, memberships, and grants. The organization does not receive local, state, or federal government funds.

     

    Address: 15425 West 810 Road

    Address Instructions: From Tahlequah you take Hwy 62 toward Muskogee, go past the Cherokee Nation, the Log Cabin Store South, and 810 is across the highway from Black Valley Trading post.  You will turn left onto 810 Road (dirt road) immediately past Bear Bonez Wrecker service. You can't miss their large sign white with red letters.   Go about 100 yards up the road and we are through the gate on the right.  There are several storage buildings but the office area is in the building at the end of the drive.

    What to expect: You will help with walking dogs, scrubbing doggie doors/walls and possibily painting pavers.

    Shift: Morning only (8am - 12pm)

    Side Notes: Please wear comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting dirtied and closed toe shoes.
