Student Disability Services

Student Disability Services at OSU Center for Health Sciences provides support services to students with disabilities and is committed to providing equal access to programs, services and activities.

In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the OSU Center for Health Sciences will provide reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities, as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and /or Section 504 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act. The purpose of providing students with such accommodations is to assure equal access to educational opportunities, not to assure academic success.

Reasonable accommodations provided to students must not pose an undue hardship on OSU Center for Health Sciences, result in a fundamental alteration in the nature of the academic program or activity, or result in an undue financial or administrative burden on the OSU Center for Health Sciences. Students at OSU Center for Health Sciences must meet certain Technical Standards and fulfill the requirements of the Academic Program in a reasonably independent manner with or without approved accommodations. For more information about technical standards, students should contact their program director or academic advisor.

The Committee on Students with Disabilities is responsible for review and approval of student requests for accommodations related to disabilities. The Associate Dean of Enrollment Management and the Assistant Dean of Campus Life (or designee) will serve on the Committee. The Assistant Dean of Campus Life will provide administrative oversight and support for the Committee, including coordination of activities and communication with regard to student requests for accommodations of disabilities.
