Training and Education
The Pediatric Medicine residency program features a formal curriculum that emphasizes the development of osteopathic pediatric medicine competencies. Ambulatory care and comprehensive pediatric medical services are stressed. A substantial portion of the resident's time is spent at the OSU Houston Center learning ambulatory care by interacting with patients, their families, faculty and clinic staff.
Each resident is afforded the opportunity to extend his or her knowledge and skills to all areas of primary care through electives. The residency program offers a well-rounded, quality training program in pediatric medicine and is designed to prepare each resident for a successful career in pediatric practice or continue with further training in a pediatric fellowship.
