Guaranteed Admissions Program
Program Overview
The Guaranteed Admission Program is an alternative admissions route that provides
students with the opportunity to hone their academic skills prior to beginning medical
coursework. Students who exhibit strong personal characteristics and a commitment
to fulfill the mission of OSU-COM during the OSU-COM interview process may be accepted
to the Guaranteed Admissions Program.
Students accepted will enroll in the one-year Graduate Certificate in Medical Sciences
Program. The Certificate Program will lay a foundation in biomedical sciences. If
students meet program and admission requirements during this year they are guaranteed
admission to the OSU College of Osteopathic Medicine the following year.
*Academic Requirements
Students accepted to this program must receive an A or B in the Graduate Certificate
Program curriculum and score a minimum of 498 on the Medical College Admission Test
(MCAT) to matriculate to the following academic year.
Curriculum for the Graduate Certificate Program
- The Certificate Program consists of four courses covered over the course of a summer, fall, and spring term: Intro Survey Human Structure;
- Graduate Medical Physiology;
- Medical Biochemistry
- Medical Microbiology and Immunology
