It’s time we make taking care of our mental health as easy to discuss as our physical health.

It’s OK to struggle with mental health

we’ve all been there
The struggle comes with many names: anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, stress and more. They can be brought on by the stress of school and daily life, fear of the coronavirus outbreak, sexual assault, physical and emotional abuse, or racial oppression, to name a few.
It’s time we treat mental health needs more openly as a society. Let’s Talk About It and make it a normal part of life to get help and heal. Talk with your friends and family, OSU staff and mental health professionals. Let’s start the change.

Find Help

OSU-CHS is a community that cares, and there are resources and programs to help you thrive during the spring semester.

Student Resources

College can be stressful, but you’re not alone. If you ever feel overwhelmed, exhausted or extremely lonely, please know OSU is here to help.

Employee Resources

Mental wellness is very important – now more than ever. OSU offers a variety of mental health resources and trainings for employees.  Use these resources to find help for yourself, a friend, or a family member.

Resident Resources

Our healthcare workers have been at the frontline on COVID-19 for many months.  You have been the world’s saving grace during our time of need, but we know it hasn’t been easy.  If you or someone you know is feeling exhausted, overworked, or at your wits end, use these resources to find help.

Become An Advocate

Be prepared to talk about it. Take part in OSU-CHS free mental health training so you can help your peers and recognize the signs and symptoms of struggle.

Mental Health First Aid

Learn to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders with the Mental Health First Aid course. For more information, or to arrange a course for your department or group, contact Kelsey Ashwood at
kelsey.ashwood@okstate.edu.

QPR Training

Question. Persuade. Refer. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone to help. Sign up and join the QPR mission to reduce suicidal behaviors and save lives through innovative, practical and proven suicide prevention training.

OSU Employee Mental Health Training

The objective of this training is to continue to build on our culture of care at OSU through educating students, faculty and staff about mental health on campus, available mental health trainings, available mental health support resources on campus, and the importance of our collective role to support each other.
