Academic Tutors
The curriculum in medical school is rigorous and requires that medical students understand and remember large amounts of information presented to them in a short period of time. Academic Tutors are medical students who have successfully completed the course and are available to help other students understand the course content, study resources, and study techniques for the following courses:
Fall Semester -
- Biochemistry/Fundamentals of Pharmacology
- Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Developmental Anatomy
- Cell and Tissue Biology
- Immunology
- Anatomy
- Medical Science Foundations
Spring Semester -
- Microbiology
- Respiratory System
- Cardiovascular System
- Hematology System
Academic tutoring is open to all students taking the course. The academic tutor will host individual or small group (1 to 5 students) academic tutoring sessions for OMSI students for the course they are leading. The academic tutors will also host drop-in academic tutoring sessions (similar to open office hours) once a week for two hours in a classroom or learning lab on campus. Academic Tutors spend time preparing for their sessions, so all efforts should be made to attend your reserved session.
