- What is Research Week?
The Research Week event is to showcase all OSU-CHS research, encourage
researchers to interact with each other and senior professionals, and to give student
researchers the experience of attending a scientific conference. - Who can participate in Research Week?OSU-CHS students of all levels, Faculty, Staff, Residents, Post-Docs, and OK Stars Students from the Tulsa and Cherokee Nation campus are invitied to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations. Presentations on all topics of research conducted by OSU-CHS researchers are welcomed and encouraged.
- What are the requirements to participate in Research Week?
Your abstract submission acknowledges your agreement to present your research either as an Oral or Poster Presentation during Research Week. Video files do not replace your obligation to present your findings during the presentation sessions. Your presentation will be scheduled once the abstract portal closes in January.
- What are the abstract requirements?
Please be sure your file is < 1MB
Please ensure that your abstract contains no more than 500 words. Please avoid diagrams, illustrations, tables, references or graphics in the abstract. Provide maximum relevant information in the abstract and if the subject matter is empirical, the following structure is obligatory: background, methods, results, conclusions, keywords.
For case reports, the following structure is obligatory: background, case presentation, discussion, keywords.View the abstract template before you decide to submit.
- Is there a judging process?
Judging is optional. To streamline the judging process and provide in-depth feedback to authors, judging will occur prior to the poster presentation events. A panel of experts (faculty/staff) will review your 1) abstract submission 2) presentation and 3) your virtual poster walkthrough video:
1. Overall visual
a. Are the components of the presentation balanced across the space?
b. Do text and graphics engage the reader?
2. Overall content
a. Are the components of the presentation organized in a logical flow (from background through significance)?
b. Do the findings support the conclusions?
3. Overall impact
a. Does the research have the potential to make a novel contribution to the field?
b. Does the poster convey the potential implications of the research findings?Oral presentation judging will be held at the time of the event.

Call for Abstracts
The OSU-CHS Office of Research and the Research Committee are pleased to invite abstracts for OSU-CHS Research Week 2025, February 10-14 at OSU-CHS Tulsa and OSU-COM at the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah. Students of all levels, residents, post-doctoral researchers, faculty and staff are invited to submit abstracts for virtual and/or in-person oral and poster presentations. Schedules for Keynote, Faculty and Staff Presentations, virutal and in-person, are forthcoming. Presentations on all topics of research conducted by OSU-CHS researchers are welcomed and encouraged.
The goals of our annual Research Week event is to showcase student research, encourage student researchers to interact with each other as well as with senior professionals, and to give student researchers the experience of attending a scientific conference. The office also welcomes Faculty and Staff to present research being conducted in addition to interacting with the campus community.

The Medical Libraries at OSU-CHS Tulsa and OSU-COM at the Cherokee Nation in Tahlequah print posters for free for all OSU-CHS affiliates.
